AFTER narrowly missing out on a rare triple-double the other day, Cebuano guard Brian Heruela goes back to work once again as Big Chill seeks the lead in the standings when they go up against the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.
Heruela, a stocky, lightning-quick guard from the University of Cebu, left his mark in the Superchargers’ 70-63 win over the Arellano-Air21 Chiefs the other day wherein he missed a triple-double by a single rebound with an impressive stat-line of 13 points, 10 assists and nine boards.
The former Cesafi Mythical Five member is actually leading the entire league in assists and steals with his norms of 8.3 and 2.6, respectively to help push Big Chill to a 7-1 (win-loss) record.
However, Cagayan Valley (7-2) poses a huge threat to Big Chill especially after notching their seventh win in nine games by beating Jumbo Plastic, 82-78, earlier in the week.
In the other game, the Café France Bakers (5-3) square off against the Wang’s Basketball Couriers (3-4). /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
