MANILA, Philippines—What started out as a shouting match after one man failed to return the right cellular phone charger he borrowed from his brother-in-law led to a stabbing in Malabon City on Tuesday evening.
The Malabon Police arrested Reynaldo Tejada, 27, of Atis Road, Malabon City, after he stabbed brother-in-law and neighbor Alexander Ramirez, 45, on Tuesday night.
According to police reports, the attack happened at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, and started with Tejada borrowing a charger from Ramirez, who asked the suspect to return it immediately after using it.
Later that night, the suspect returned the charger he thought Ramirez gave to him. However, the victim got mad when he saw that it was not his charger, but a different kind.
The two then had a heated argument about the issue, which ended in Tejada leaving Ramirez’s house frustrated.
Investigation showed that Tejada, now drunk, later on returned to Ramirez’s house, and hurled stones at his house. He then went inside and stabbed Ramirez, hitting him in the body.
Tejada escaped after Ramirez fought him off, while the victim’s relatives brought him to the hospital.
Police later arrested Tejada in his house and are now preparing charges against him.
