Gadgets worth P60T lost to burglars

Around P60,000 worth of gadgets and jewelry were lost to burglars who broke into an an apartment in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City Sunday afternoon.

Victim Edna Erencio, 35, a librarian of a private school in Lapu-Lapu City, reported to the police that her apartment was ransacked and she lost a digital camera, a computer set, jewelry and a Rolex watch.

The woman was out with her family when the burglars entered the apartment through the back door.

‘Robber’ shot dead

A suspected robber was shot dead by the brother of his victim in Carmen town, northern Cebu past 1 a.m. Sunday.

Victim Domingo Lozano, 32, of barangay Upper Natimao-an, Carmen sustained a gunshot wound in the chest which caused his instantaneous death.

Lozano was playing a card game in the house of his friend, Edicio Dimco, when suspect Eufronio Luardo, 78, attacked him.

Barangay tanods immediately responded and arrested the gunman.

SPO3 Renerio Masocol Jr. told Cebu Daily News the suspect is the brother of Ezekiel Luardo, a businessman, and Lozano’s alleged robbery victim.

Early this year, Lozano with three companions allegedly waylaid, robbed and stabbed Ezekiel while he was on his way home from work.

Masocol said that there is no record of Luardo filing a complaint against Lozano after the incident and they believe that the motive of last Sunday’s attack was revenge.
