BANGKOK – Around 100,000 people took to the streets of the Thai capital on Monday seeking to topple the government, police estimated, despite the prime minister’s decision to call snap elections.
“Turnout at 10.30 am (0330 GMT) is estimated at 100,000,” said a police official at the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order, which was set up to deal with the unrest.
