Suspected victim of summary execution found in Olongapo

MANILA, Philippines—A man, believed to have been a victim of summary execution, was found in Olongapo City over the weekend, police said Monday.

In a report from Police Regional Office 3, the still unidentified male victim was said to have been recovered at Bacon Street, Barangay (village) East Tapinac in Olongapo City at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday by spouses Richard and May Azarcon who were walking along the street that night.

The victim, who was wearing jeans and black shirt, was found lying on the ground with his head wrapped in plastic, hands tied with a plastic cable, and with a gunshot wound at the back of his head.

A note was also left at the victim’s chest which read “AKO SI BETONG HOLDAPER, SA MGA KAPWA KO HOLDAPER MALAPIT NA KAYONG SUMUNOD SA AKIN.”

Police estimated the victim to be around 40 to 45 years old, 4’10” to 5” in height, with short hair and dark complexion. A barbed wire is tattooed in his right wrist.

The report noted that an ocular investigation was conducted, but nobody witnessed any incident nor heard gun shots at the crime scene prior to the discovery of the victim.

The victim’s body was brought to St. Martin Funeral Homes, Murphy Street, in Pag-asa, Olongapo City waiting for autopsy examination.
