MANILA, Philippines — A branch of a courier service lost around P40,000 in cash and valuables to armed men who barged into the establishment on Saturday afternoon in Quezon City.

At least two robbers struck at the JRS Express outlet on Congressional Avenue in Barangay (village) Bahay Toro while there was only one employee manning the outlet.

PO2 Dexter Agres, the case investigator, said the two culprits were both armed with caliber .38 revolvers.

The outlet lost P27,000 in cash, a hard drive containing recorded footage from the closed circuit television, camera and two cellular phones worth P15,500 belonging to Marlon Geronimo.

Geronimo was the only staff manning the branch when the robbers struck at around 4 p.m. Saturday.

Geronimo was behind the counter when the two men suddenly barged in with their handguns.

The lone employee was forced into the men’s room of the establishment at gunpoint and was locked in by the robbers.

The culprits then carted away their loot and fled while Geronimo was stuck inside the comfort room. The employee eventually managed to free himself and report the break-in to authorities.
