Cebuanos want bar exams held in South

MANILA, Philippines—There’s a chance that the annual bar examinations may be held outside Metro Manila for law graduates based in the Visayas and Mindanao.

The Supreme Court had endorsed for the consideration of its Committee on Bar Examinations a request for the bar tests to be held outside Metro Manila.

The request was made by the Cebu city council in a resolution it made and sent to the high court.

“The Court resolved, upon the recommendation of the Office of the Bar Confidant, to refer this matter to the Committee on Bar Examinations for consideration,” said the high court notice issued by Clerk of Court.

The high court resolution was issued last Nov. 19.

The bar exams have always been held in Metro Manila. Since 2011, the bar exams have been held at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila from the previous venue at De La Salle University, also in Manila.
