THE scheduled fight of Prince Albert Pagara in Lib-og, Maasin City in the Boxing Idol 2 promotion at the Maasin City Gym has been postponed anew to either late January or early February next year.

This was relayed to Cebu Daily News yesterday by Maasin City Mayor Maloney Samaco and city administrator Feorillo “Bom-Bom” Demeterio, who both cited the recent Supertyphoon Yolanda as reason for the postponement.

Originally set last Nov.15, the fight card was rescheduled to this Friday Dec. 6. However, Samaco said the ALA Boxing Promotions, co-presentor of the tournament alongside the Maasin City Government decided on the new schedule of ABS-CBN’s fight program.

Pagara, who holds a perfect professional record of 17 wins with 12 knock outs and no losses, will try to emulate his more popular older brother, WBO International Junior Welterweight Champion Jason Pagara, when he battles Manakane in the 10-round bantamweight mainer.

Pagara, who is on a multi-year promotional contract with ALA Promotions, is coming off from an impressive 2nd round stoppage of Thai Khunkhiri Wor Wisaruth of Bangkok during the Pinoy Pride XXI: When Worlds Collide held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila.

The RP no.12 superbantamweight Pagara has a knockout percentage of 70.59 and is expected to run roughshod over Indonesia’s No.2 bantamweight Manakane.

Meanwhile, fighting in the undercard are Roma Rate of Mandaue City vs. Reymond Tabogon of Misamis Oriental; Brian Lobitania of Kitaotao, Bukidnon vs. Nikong Calamba of Butuan City; Jonas Sultan of Zamboanga del Norte vs. Rocky Alvarez of General Santos City; Kim Galon of Davao City vs. Belmar Plaza of Cebu City and Raul Yu of Butuan City vs. Andrew Palas of Cebu City. /correspondent Jade S.
