Petron trips Barako for solo lead w 4th victory

THE unbeaten Petron Blaze Boosters clawed back from double-digit deficits to down the Barako Bull Energy Colas, 96-90, last night in the 39th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Boosters stayed as the only unbeaten team in the tournament with their fourth victory.

The Energy Colas absorbed their second straight loss after a surprising start where they chalked up back-to-back victories.

Marcio Lassiter led the way for Petron with 26 points, while Arwind Santos contributed 19. Paolo Hubalde was the surprise package for the Boosters, piling up 15 markers to cushion the absence of key wingmen.

Petron played without the injured Chris Lutz, Alex Cabagnot, Chris Ross, and Ronald Tubid.
