City launches ‘Pasko sa Sugbo’
Nightly shows to be held at the Fuente Rotunda for the entire month of December
As the Christmas season begins, the Cebu City government launched the ‘Pasko sa Sugbo 2013’ last Sunday at the Fuente Rotunda.
One of the highlights was the grand fireworks display and the lighting of the giant Christmas tree, sponsored by M. Lhuillier for 11 years now.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, in his message, urged everyone to celebrate Christmas despite the two calamities that beset the Visayas — the 7.2-magnitude earthquake last Oct. 15 and supertyphoon Yolanda last Nov. 8.
With hundreds of individuals affected by the typhoon and taking refuge in the city, celebrating the Yuletide season will give them hope amid adversities, he said.
The event was graced by the Michel Lhuillier and his wife Amparito, Councilor Sisinio Andales, Parks and Playground chairman and consultant Ado Macaraya, former councilors Joy Pesquera and Maning Legaspi, Miss Cebu 2013 with the Miss Cebu 2014 candidates.
