CEBU’s volunteer storytelling and reading advocate group, Basadours, will be holding simultaneous storytelling and art sessions in Cebu and Bohol today.
In Cebu, the group will roll out “Storython: A Storytelling Marathon” in three temporary shelters in Cebu City. With the theme, “Coloring their smiles through storytelling,” this year’s Storython was organized for the children from areas struck by typhoon Yolanda last Nov. 8. Activities include storytelling, question and answer game and arts and crafts activity.
In Bohol, the Basadours will conduct a storytelling session to children and storytelling training to volunteers in the Kabataan Interactive Development (KID) Zones that are established in Tubigon in partnership with Bidlisiw Foundation Inc.
Basadours chairperson Melvin Legaspi said the Basadours will play an active role in rolling storytelling sessions in Bohol, to benefit children in communities who were affected by the 7.2-magnitude earthquake.
“What these children experienced is not easy. While some of them may be smiling, we never know what they are feeling inside. By sharing stories, games and arts to them, we can hopefully contribute in bringing joy to these children,” said Legaspi.
