Chong Hua donates P3M for quake rehab

As its contribution to the daunting task of rehabilitation after the Oct. 15 earthquake, Asociacion Benevola de Cebu Inc., which owns and operates Chong Hua Hospital, donated P1 million to the Cebu City government, according to a news release.

Chong Hua Hospital also donated P1 million to the Mandaue City government and another P1 million to the Cebu provincial government, as well as 1,721 relief packs to earthquake victims through the civic-medical volunteer group Amro.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama received a P1-million check from hospital executives led by their president, Lim Liu, at the Mayor’s Office.

“It is our hope that we will not only be able to assist in community rebuilding and rehabilitation through your esteemed office but also to send a message of hope and empathy to  victims of the earthquake,” said Liu.

Rama thanked the group, which has been a major partner of the city government in projects like the new police station in Fuente Osmeña, through the Adopt a Police Station Project as a public-private partnership initiative.
