Stop fence work near Filinvest project

Contractors of the Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone BPO Project at the IT Park in barangay Lahug, Cebu City are complaining against the construction of a fence near their area by the Cebu Property Ventures Development Corporation (CPVDC).

The fencing continues despite a stoppage order earlier issued by the Cebu City government, Filinvest said in a letter to Office of the Building Official (OBO) head Kenneth Carmelita Enriquez.

Butchie Abaya, project manager of ESCA Inc., wants OBO to inspect and take appropriate action.

“For and in behalf of our client Filinvest Land Inc. being their construction managers, we would like to inform your good office the status of (fencing) being done by CPVDC group along Geonzon St., the works are still ongoing in spite of the issuance of a notice of illegal construction issued by your office,” Abaya wrote.

Photos of the fence were attached to the letter.

NOTICE

The CPVDC was issued a notice of illegal construction last November 19. The company was ordered to immediately stop all illegal building activities in their premises. They were also told to secure the necessary building permit from OBO.

OBO area inspector Emerson Delos Santos recommended the notice against CPVDC. It was noted by Pascual Gimenez Jr., chief of the OBO enforcement division and also signed by Enriquez.

Apas barangay councilman Allan Mahait said they inspected the area and found out that the construction work continues even after CPVDC received the notice. /Correspondent Jose Santino S. Bunachita
