‘Bebeng’ death toll reaches 10, 2 missing

MANILA, Philippines—At least 10 persons were killed while two others remained missing in the onslaught of Tropical Storm “Bebeng,” which made its second landfall over northern Casiguran, Aurora, the national disaster agency reported Monday noon.

Eight of the fatalities were from Bicol, which was badly hit by the heavy rains unleashed by Bebeng, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Of the eight fatalities, 4 were from Camarines Sur, including two children who died in a landslide, 3 were from Albay, and 1 from Catanduanes.

In Eastern Visayas region, one died in Leyte and another in Northern Samar.

The two missing persons were from Camarines Sur and Albay.
