Blazers nip chiefs
THE COLLEGE of St. Benilde Blazers averted disaster as they survived the Arellano University Chiefs, 66-64, in the 87th NCAA basketball tournament yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.
Anton Altamirano split his charities in the final eight seconds, but it was enough to fend off the Chiefs, as St. Benilde posted its seventh win in 12 matches to stay in the hunt for a Final Four berth.
Juan Taha led the Blazers with 12 points, while Jonathan Grey and Altamirano had 10 apiece. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
