13 hurt in San Juan road mishap

Netizen Brian Canasa (@briancanasa) posted a photo of the accident that injured 13 laborers on his Twitter account.

MANILA, Philippines–At least 13 workers were hurt after a 40-footer container truck lost its balance and tilted on its side at an intersection in San Juan Friday.

According to the Metro Manila Development Authority metro base personnel, the “self-accident” occurred along Ortigas avenue and Santolan road at 3:46 p.m. causing heavy traffic in the area.

San Juan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office administration officer Bryant Wong told INQUIRER.net that the laborers only incurred minor injuries and were “still able to mobilize.”

Included in the 13 injured in the mishap was the driver, said Wong in a phone interview.

The workers  were brought by the city rescue team to San Juan Medical Center.

The officials, however, refused to disclose the owner of the trailer truck.
