Waterfalls provide potable water for survivors

MANILA, Philippine—Mother Nature may have unleashed her Cerberus in Yolanda, but she definitely saved some of her good graces for her children.
After the super typhoon nearly levelled Samar, a small waterfall in the area has become a savior for the survivors.
The Kandungos Falls in Barangay Malobago in Marabut, Samar has served as a water station for the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) for the past six days said in a statement from a government news website.
Volunteers from the PNRC have been rationing 50,000 liters of potable water from the falls to five towns in Samar, namely Marabut, Lawaan, Balangiga, Giporlos and Quinapondan.
The Red Cross has provided the equipment to process raw water from Kandungos Falls into potable water ready for distribution for the survivors.
