LUIGI WELCOMES SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET

CEBU 6th district Rep. Luis Gabriel Quisumbing said he will make sure that northern Cebu which was in supertyphoon Yolanda’s path of destruction  will get its fair share of the proposed P14.6 billion supplemental budget.
Aside from Yolanda-affected areas, Quisumbing who is vice chairman of the House Appropriations Committee said he will also work for the allocation budget for those affected by the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that hit Bohol and Cebu.
The House of Representatives approved on first reading HBl 3423 appropriating P14.6 billion supplemental budget.  The measure is set to be approved on second and final reading when congress resumes next week./Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos

800 TONS OF AID FROM TAIWAN ARRIVING TODAY

A Taiwanese Navy ship carrying 800 tons of relief goods is set to arrive in Cebu City today.
According to Frederick Ong, Jr., an official of the government of Taiwan assigned to oversee their nationals in Cebu, their Navy cargo ship is escorted by a warship “for protection.”
The relief goods will be handed over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to be distributed to typhoon victims who need it. The ships will return  to Taiwan by Monday./Correspondent Jose Santino S. Bunachita

RAMA WANTS OUTGOING SK REP AS CONSULTANT

With the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) representative in the city council’s term ending on Nov. 30, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama wants the youth representative as consultant for the city’s youth affairs.
“If he is willing and he has time, I want out-going Councilor John Phillip Po to be involved as a consultant to the CCYDC,” Rama said.
Po’s term as ex-officio city councilor representing the Sangguniang Kabataan ends on Nov. 30.
