CCSC releases Cebu Olympian publication to PE teachers
WITH the Strength and Conditioning Workshop of the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) now being a long-term program, the CCSC released yesterday its official publication, the Cebu Olympian, to around 400 coaches and Physical Education teachers in the different schools in Cebu City.
The second issue of the quarterly newsletter came out amidst the bustle of the newly formed CCSC team that will oversee and implement the grassroots Strength and Conditioning program.
In his message to the CCSC staff headed by chairman Edward Hayco, Cebu City Councilor Richard Z. Osmeña, chairman of the Committee on Games, Amusement and Sports of the city council, said the newsletter “will truly help our teacher and coaches in different barangays to improve their way of teaching and coaching skills to our students and athletes.”
Osmeña also lauded the CCSC for coming up with the publication along with the different teachers and coaches, whom he cited as “compassionate people who value both their jobs and their responsibility to students.”
Hayco, for his part, said the newsletter aims to provide the teachers and coaches vital and critical information needed to raise the bar of Cebu sports to world-class level. /Correspondent Jade S. Violeta
