BUSINESS rivalry is being eyed as a possible motive in the killing of two persons whose charred remains were found in a burnt Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in barangay Sabang, Danao City, northern Cebu.
Investigators believed that the victims were Koreans, said Supt. Elmer Lim, chief of the Danao City Police Station and spokesman of the task force created to solve the killings.
Lim said they received reports that two Koreans who lived in barangay Talamban, Cebu City, are missing.
Police are withholding the identities of the two Koreans pending confirmation of the report.
Lim said the missing Koreans were engaged in business in Cebu.
In a case conference held yesterday, the task force agreed to conduct a DNA test to identify the two fatalities.
Supt. Nestor Sator, medico-legal officer of the PNP Crime Laboratory, said they have taken tissue samples from the victims for the DNA testing.
Lim said the Korean community has asked the police to speed up the investigation.
Lim said they believed there are Koreans who had knowledge of the killing but are afraid to cooperate in the investigation./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
