IT was youth leader Aladin Wilyamie Caminero’s last day as an ex-officio member of the Cebu Provincial Board representing the youth.
With his term as president of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) provincial federation expiring at the end of the month, he sees himself focusing his energies in completing his education. The 20-year-old Caminero is taking up a masters degree in Business Administration at the University of San Carlos.
Caminero yesterday bade his colleagues at the PB farewell.
In his valedictory speech, Caminero said he hopes the youth sector will continue to have representation at the PB. With the SK election canceled in the Oct. 28 barangay polls, Caminero’s seat remains vacant.
“We the youth can only wish that our national legislators, which fortunately includes my father, can act fast enough to come up with the desired new system of youth representation,” he said.
Caminero is the son of Cebu 2nd District. Rep. Wilfredo Caminero, who also served as a member of the PB before he won as congressman last May. /Peter L. Romanillos, Correspondent
