The race for the coveted Rider of the Year (RoY) title got more interesting after veteran motocross rider Glenn Aguilar ruled the 10th leg of the Kopiko Astig 3-in-1 Supercross Series in Dumaguete City yesterday.
Aguilar won the titles in the pro-open category and the international category, where he beat rivals Jon Eleazar Adlawan of Cebu, Rhowell Mangosong IV and Danish Emil Jepsen.
In the international category, Adlawan finished second, Mangosong third and Jepsen third.
Mangosong finished second in the pro-open category followed by Adlawan.
Aguilar’s victory brightened his chances for the RoY award while Adlawan, who has been in a slump in the last two legs, jeopardized his bid.

Jepsen topped the intermediate division, winning over Ambo Yaparcon and Scott Remi, who finished second and third, respectively.
In the novice open production, Jougeen Basco emerged the fastest rider followed by Jacob Orbe and Christopher Jules Bandigan.
Bandigan won in the beginners open, beating Mclean Aguilar and Jose Ocaban. Aguilar managed to win the mini division title.
Dexter Bacabac, John Fernandez and Tristan Galanto lorded the veterans A, B and C categories, respectively.
Jed Luna lorded the open and local enduro categories while Pia Gabriel topped the women’s category. In the underbone division, Baculpo came in first while Bj Pepito topped the peewee 65cc and Keith Lloyd Abrenica ruled the peewee 50cc.
