5 suspected pawnshop robbers arrested in Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines–Five men who alleged robbed a pawnshop in Bulacan have been arrested, police said on Monday.

Michael de los Santos, 19; Jayson Fabian, 20; Orlando Manalo, 30; Hitler Landayan, 19; and Jay Areglo, 19 were nabbed in an entrapment operation conducted by Guiguinto police last Sunday at around 3 p.m.  in Cut-cot village, Guiguinto, Bulacan, said Bulacan Provincial Police Office Deputy Chief Police Superintendent Camilo Lintao.

They allegedly robbed the Remalyn Pawnshop and Cellphone Shop located at Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan, last week, Lintao said.

Seized from the suspects were P3,000 marked money used in the entrapment operation; five cellular phones; assorted silver jewelries including four rings, two necklaces, one bracelet and two cross pendants; a blue Racal motorcycle without plate number; and a red Honda motorcycle with plate number 7724-PI.

The suspects were detained at the Guiguinto police while appropriate criminal complaints were being prepared against them, said Lintao.—Danica Hermogenes
