Pason wins Deep Blue Chess title

ALLAN Pason emerged as the best player in yesterday’s first-ever 18-Under chess tournament of the SM Deep Blue Chess Club at the SM City Cebu.

Pason finished the seven-round Swiss system tournament with 6.5 points to win the crown.

Steve Orsua finished with 6.0 points while Diego Claro had 5.5 to finish second and third, respectively.

Felix Shaun Balbona also wound up with 5.5 points but Claro finished with a bigger bucholz score of 22 over Balbona’s 21. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
