TO promote awareness of environment issues through music, Earthday Jam Foundation held its first tour in Cebu yesterday at Ayala Terraces featuring ethnic, reggae and alternative music.
The event held in the wake of supertyphoon Yolanda, highlighted the storm as a consequence of climate change, said Lou Bonnevie, Earthday Jam Foundation president.
“We need to get something like this for us to be aware of what is really happening,” Bonnevie said.
Over the past 13 years, Earthday Jam has staged an annual environmental concert in Luzon.
This year was the first time national artists have banded together to go on regional tours.
They performed in Cebu yesterday and are scheduled to perform in Robinson’s Dumaguete today.
Noel Cabangon, Cebu band Dance With Me Kris, Karel Marquez and Lou and her band are among the concert performers. /Correspondent Apple Ta-as
