Indaya says Palaro, CVIRAA competitions are tougher

DESPITE her success in the Cebu leg of the 2013 4th Speedo G-League Series at the Cebu City Aquatic Center and in the recent 2013 Speedo G-League Long Course Swimming Visayas at the Lorenzo G. Teves Memorial Aqua Center in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Cebu Blue Marlins (CBM) Swimming Club ace Karen Mae Indaya is still not too confident of her chances in the Palarong Pambansa.

In a chat with reporters during Speedo’s Cebu leg, the 13-year-old Indaya, a high school freshman of the University of Cebu (UC), said that the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) and Palarong Pambansa are more challenging, which makes it tougher for her to win in those competitions.

Indaya, who started swimming when she was six, logged her highest achievement in last year’s Palaro by snaring a bronze medal in the 400-meter freestyle event, which she said was her forte.

Before the Palaro, Indaya, alongside UC teammate Michael Ichiro Kong, will both take part in the G-League Long Course Swimming National Championship in December. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
