THE charred bodies recovered from a burnt sport utility vehicle (SUV) in barangay Sabang, Danao City belonged to a man and a woman, a medico-legal officer said.
Senior Supt. Nestor Sator of the PNP Crime Laboratory said the gender of the two fatalities were determined through the shapes of their pelvic bones.
In his autopsy report, Sator said the woman had a tooth filling (pasta) in her molar. The woman’s dental records will help the police in identifying her, Sator said.
Sator added the cause of death has yet to be determined since the bodies were severely burnt.
Sator, however, said the victims’ throats were found clear of particles which would suggest suffocation.
Supt. Rodolfo Albotra Jr., chief of the intelligence branch of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), said that based on the macro-etching examination, the car was registered in Mindanao and was sold in Cebu.
Albotra said initial investigation revealed that the car dealer was a Korean national.
The charred bodies were found by a group of teenagers looking for spiders late Monday evening./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
