Carlson Family Foundation pledges $20,000 support
THE Carlson Family Foundation has pledged $20,000 for typhoon Yolanda relief groups to aid recovery in affected areas.
The foundation has asked Carlson colleagues worldwide to consider personal donations as well in support of its Philippines-based colleagues and hotels.
“We believe it is our responsibility to do what we can to help our neighbors in need,” said Trudy Rautio, president and chief executive officer for Carlson.
“Carlson, in partnership with the Carlson Family Foundation and our businesses, is pleased to commit more than $50,000 to the relief efforts and we have encouraged our customers and employees to join us in this important humanitarian effort.”
The foundation, in partnership with Carlson, contributed $10,000 to the International Rescue Committee Typhoon Haiyan (local name Yolanda) Fund and $10,000 to the American Red Cross Typhoon Appeal.
In addition, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s loyalty club, Club Carlson, is encouraging members to donate Club Carlson Gold Points to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief effort via the Club Carlson website, which will be matched by a donation from the Carlson Family Foundation of up to $10,000.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Asia Pacific, which operates two hotels in the region, including the Park Inn by Radisson Davao and the Radisson Blu Cebu, is collecting donations to benefit its own employees who were affected by the typhoon.
Article continues after this advertisementCarlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and TGI Fridays Restaurants are also showing their support for their colleagues and the people of the Philippines.
CWT announced a donation of $25,000 to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent and is encouraging employees worldwide, in the 50 countries in which they operate, to donate personally to that organization or another relief organization of their choice, while TGI Fridays is encouraging team members to donate directly to the American Red Cross Typhoon Appeal or Red Cross Philippines.
