THE STREAM Blue Devils surged atop the standings with a huge 89-83 win over the multi-titled Convergys Wolves last Saturday in the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
Sylvester Millevo exploded for 33 points, Gilbeys Cabrera finished with 20 points, while Jerome Holasca donated 11 in what could be the biggest win by Stream in the season so far.
Dean Junber Escalon scored 16 points, Ibhar Je Del Mar and Ronald Mabanto tallied 15 each, while Joshua Ryan Yam had 12 markers as the Wolves missed a golden opportunity of further cementing their hold of the lead.
Instead, the Blue Devils now hold the solo top spot in the standings with their 10th win in 12 games, while the Wolves dropped to a three-way tie at second place with the Teletech Titans and the Lexmark Stallions at 9-2 (win-loss).
The Titans handily earned their ninth win after they scored a default win over the Supportsave Dragons. The Dragons dropped to 2-8.
In the other game, the Calltek Trojans snatched their seventh win in 10 games by subduing the Kryocera Frontiers, 72-38.
