Fire hits Cavite Napocor plant

MANILA, Philippines—Fire gutted a portion of the power plant of the National Power Corporation in Cavite Thursday, a city fire officer said.

Fire officer Martin Babay of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Dasmariñas said fire broke out at the power plant of Napocor in Barangay (village) San Agustin 1 around 10:50 a.m.

Initial information reaching their office said a transformer went on fire, but added that circumstances leading to the blaze have yet to be determined.

The fire reached second alarm before it was put out at 12:17 p.m.

Babay said Napocor supplies the electricity of Dasmariñas.
