THE Mandaue City government will allocate P6.9 million in cash assistance to 15 northern Cebu towns and fourtowns in Leyte that were hit by supertyphoon Yolanda.
City Administrator James Abadia said P5.7 million will go northern Cebu while P1.2 million will go to the cities of Tacloban and Ormoc and the towns of Aleng and Albuera in Leyte province.
Abadia said half a million pesos will be allocated to the towns of Bantayan, Daanbantayan and Borbon while Bogo City gets the biggest share with P600,000. Daanbantayan and Bantayan in particular will each receive P550,000.
The towns of Madridejos, Santa Fe, Medellin, San Remigio and San Francisco will each receive P400,000, while the towns of Pilar, Poro and Tudela in Camotes Islands, the towns of Tabogon and Sugod will receive P300,000.
The cities of Tacloban and Ormoc and the towns of Albuera and Alang have been allotted P300,000 each.
The amounts were determined based on reports of the extent of damage to property and total population of the area, Abadia said.
Mayor Jonas Cortes said the amount would go to the reconstruction and relief operations of these towns and cities. Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
