Rama donates salary, bonus to typhoon victims

/ 03:56 PM November 20, 2013

CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama will donate his P80,000 November salary and his P80,000 year-end bonus to the families of typhoon-devastated Tacloban City and northern Cebu towns.

But he said he doesn’t agree to the suggestion of Councilor Alvin Dizon and Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma for the Cebu City government to cancel their Christmas party and donate the appropriation to the typhoon victims.

Rama said he will make sure that Cebu City Hall’s Christmas celebration will not be lavish and extravagant.

Dominic Dino, Human Resources Office (HRDO) chief, said admin officers agreed that the city government set aside the P250 meal allocation for each employee participating in the City Olympics and Christmas party and donate these to the typhoon victims. The two events are scheduled next month. Correspondent Edison delos Angeles
