Relief goods, free medical services for Ormoc residents

A TEAM from the SM Foundation Inc. went to Ormoc City, one of the areas badly hit by supertyphoon Yolanda, last Nov. 15 and 16 to distribute 10,000 relief packs to the typhoon victims including those in neighboring areas.

The team also went to barangay San Pablo in Ormoc City to conduct a medical mission.

The free ECG and X-ray services were done at the foundation’s mobile van.

A total of 329 patients benefited from the activity, which included the distribution of free medicines.

SM Foundation still accepts donations from shoppers. Donation booths are located at the lower ground floor of SM City Cebu (between Air Philippines and Country Crafts) and at the ground floor of SM Consolacion (fronting Bo’s Coffee). Cash donations will be used to purchase relief packs.

Shoppers may also donate via SM Supermarket, SM Savemore, SM Hypermarket’s Donate-A-Bag project. One may purchase a food pack worth P100 in exchange for an eco bag. Food packs purchased will be turned over to the Philippine Red Cross for distribution to the typhoon victims.
