Man survives motorcycle crash in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines – The vulnerability of bikers on the road was once again highlighted in a near  tragic motorcycle crash Monday night in Quezon City.

A man identified only as “Pong” suffered injuries in the neck and knees after his motorcycle was hit by a passenger jeep at the corner of Seattle Street and Aurora Boulevard.

Paramedics gave the man first aid before he was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center.

The government, particularly the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) , has intensified its drive to promote road safety to minimize accidents involving motorcycle riders.

The MMDA said it has been coming up with solutions to solve traffic problems and almost all its projects are geared towards public safety. However, it said its efforts would go to waste if the drivers themselves will ignore and disobey traffic rules.
