NLEX routs Arellano-Air21; Heruela helps Big Chill win

THE NLEX Road Warriors began their road to redemption with a resounding blowout as they routed the Arellano-Air21, 93-60, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup yesterday at the JCSGO gym in Cubao.

Meanwhile, the Big Chill Superchargers kept their unbeaten streak going as they scrapped past the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems, 81-78. The victory was their fourth in a row while Cebuana fell to 1-3 (win-loss).

While Janus Lozada and Jeckster Apinan took care of the scoring load with the latter scoring on a three-point play with 34.1 seconds left that spelled the difference in the tightly-contested game, Cebuano point guard Brian Heruela orchestrated the offense to perfection with 11 assists.

The former star of the University of Cebu also held his own on the defensive side of the floor as he also had a block and a steal in 24 minutes of action. Former University of San Jose-Recoletos standout Mar Villahermosa added 11 markers while dishing out seven dimes. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
