MANILA, Philippines—The Field Investigation Office (FIO) filed with the Office of the Ombudsman another set of plunder case against Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada and several others involved in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) controversy.
FIO was tasked by the Office of the Ombudsman even before the government through the National Bureau of Investigation started their own probe.
The FIO Teams gathered numerous documents and interviewed at least 1,500 witnesses in more than 100 cities and municipalities in 39 provinces all over the country.
The complaint filed by the FIO will be assigned to the Special Panel of Investigators that is conducting a similar complaint filed by the NBI. Once the complaints have been consolidated, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales said, only then can the respondents be ordered to submit their counter-affidavit.
Meanwhile, the administrative complaints against Enrile, Revilla and Estrada have been forwarded to the Senate Ethics Committee who has administrative jurisdiction over them.
