THE Philippine Postal Corp. is launching the on-the-spot stamp design contest nationwide to promote awareness among the youth on the significance of celebrating Valentine’s Day through the creative art of postage designs.
The contest is open to all high school students.
It will be held on Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. at the Robinson’s Fuente in Cebu City. Participants will be given two hours to finish their designs. Entries must interpret the theme “Valentine’s Day, Pinoy Style, Celebrating Valentine’s Day the Filipino Way.”
The artwork design must be made on a white illustration board measuring 18 x 24 inches, with either of oil, acrylic and pastel on paper as a medium.
It must be accompanied by a write-up or interpretation of the theme and the design. The write-up must be written on an A4 size bond paper and must not be less than 100 words.
The name, address and contact number of the participant together with the name of the school should be attached at the back of the illustration board.
The criteria for judging include originality (20%), relevance to the theme (50%), visual impact (15%) and artistic design (15%).
All entries will become the property of the Philippine Postal Corp.
The first four winning entries will be featured in the stamps that will launched in January 2014.
Four top prizes will receive P15,000, a plaque and a certificate of participation.
There will be a special prize of P10,000 plus plaque and certificate of participation.
The top 5 regional entries will be submitted to the Philatelic Division for pre-screening prior to the final judging in Manila.
