MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Rail Transit has resumed its normal operations after trips were suspended in several stations due to broken rails.
Renato San Jose, MRT director for Operations, said full operations resumed at 7:52 a.m.
San Jose said they installed fish plate and C-clamp to the broken rails earlier found along the southbound lane between Boni and Shaw Boulevard stations, which caused the temporary suspension of the MRT operations from Shaw Boulevard to Taft Avenue stations for necessary repairs.
“We are still looking at the cause,” San Jose said, referring to the broken rails.
