MANILA, Philippines—Tropical depression “Zoraida,” which was downgraded to a low pressure area (LPA) Tuesday afternoon, is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Palawan on Wednesday, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its early morning weather forecast, said the LPA was spotted 115 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is forecast to affect northern Luzon.
“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast and east will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate and rough,” Pagasa said.
It said Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol region and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon Light will experience moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
