Ako Bicol party list sending heavy equipment to Leyte, Samar

MANILA, Philippines—Ako Bicol party list, in partnership with Sunwest Construction and Development Corp. and the local government of Legazpi, will send relief goods and heavy equipment to Samar and Leyte provinces to help in the massive clearing operations.

Dubbed “Operation Tarabangan,” the group will field seven dump trucks, a payloader and one grader to clear road debris that hamper relief operations, it said.

The heavy equipment and their operators will remain in the critical areas for at least two weeks, Alfredo Garbin of Ako Bicol said.

The party-list group will also bring 1,500 sleeping mats and 5,000 packs of relief goods composed of rice, noodles, sardines and bottled water for affected families.
