MANILA, Philippines—As 30 areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 1 due to tropical depression “Zoraida”, local governments suspended classes in Visayas and Mindanao.
Following are areas where classes were suspended:
Mindanao
- Kidapawan City (public & private) –all levels
- Davao Del Sur (public & private) –all levels
- Misamis Occidental (public & private) –all levels
- Davao City (public & private) –all levels
- Davao Del Norte (public & private) –all levels
- Davao Del Sur (public & private) –all levels
- Tandag City (public & private) – preschool to high school
Visayas
- Cebu City (public & private) – preschool to high school
- Jagna, Bohol (public & private) –all levels until November 13
- Bohol (public & private) – preschool to high school
- Bacolod City (public & private) –preschool to elementary
Meanwhile, destruction wrought by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan), the Cebu government announced a week-long class suspension in selected municipalities to allow the repair of classrooms.
From Monday until Friday this week, classes in elementary and secondary levels are suspended in the following Cebu aras:
- Sogod
- Borbon
- Tabogon
- San Remigio
- Medellin
- Daan-bantayan
- Madrilejos
- Santa Fe
- Bantayan
