The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) is urging more volunteers to help out in the packing and hauling of relief goods for Tacloban City.
DSWD Regional Director Mercedita Jabagat encouraged the academe, faith-based groups and other civil society groups to help out in the relief operations for the affected towns of typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban and Cebu.
“The agency is targeting 20,000 family packs for distribution to the affected areas in Eastern Visayas,” Jabagat said.
To volunteer, one may contact the DSWD Emergency Hotline at 2329507 or visit the Volunteer Management Desk at the DSWD Regional Office on MJ Cuenco Avenue corner General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.
Meanwhile, the Emergency Hotline 2329507 has been activated by the DSWD to entertain queries and give updates on the typhoon Yolanda relief efforts.
The DSWD text hotlines are also activated to receive updates, reports on assistance needed and other feedback on the ongoing relief operations.
