Village official shot dead in Maguindanao

MANILA, Philippines— A village councillor was killed in Maguindanao Friday night, police said.

Leo Galangan, 42 village councilor was shot by a still unidentified suspect in his residence in the village of Kuya, South Upi Maguindanao at around 9:30 p.m., Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said on Saturday

Police were still investigating the case, he said.
