JOBLESS MAN KILLS SELF
FAILING to land a job may have driven a man to commit suicide by hanging himself in barangay Cubacub, Mandaue City at dawn yesterday.
Police identified the fatality as Robert Ople, 21.
Relatives found the man suspended from the ceiling of a storage room in Bamboo Green Subdivision with a malong looped around his neck, said SPO2 Marcos Noval Jr., investigator of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch of the Mandaue City Police Office.
The victim’s body was later taken to a funeral parlor in Lilo-an town for autopsy.
The man’s father told police that his son became depressed for failing to land a job despite applying to several companies.
Article continues after this advertisementThe father revealed that his son had been previously admitted as a patient at the psychiatric ward of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

JOHN SILENCED BY GUNSHOTS
A 30-YEAR-OLD man was shot while having a videoke session with a friend in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
John Barrion sustained two gunshot wounds in the chest.
Police said Barrion was singing past 5 a.m. Friday when two men arrived.
The two pretended to buy some cigarettes from a store. They later approached the victim and fired shots.
The assailants fled after the shooting.
The victim was then rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

WIFE FINDS HUBBY DEAD
A 44-YEAR-OLD man was found dead inside his house in barangay Ermita, Cebu City.
Renato Cabrera was already lifeless when he was found by his wife around 1 a.m. yesterday.
The wife told police that her husband had been suffering from kidney and liver illnesses.

BOY caught IN SNATCHING INCIDENT
A 13-YEAR-OLD was caught allegedly snatching the necklace of a woman in front of the Sto. Rosario Church on P. del Rosario Street in barangay San Antonio, Cebu City.
The incident happened at 2:20 p.m. last Friday.
Police said the silver necklace owned by Irene Segovia was recovered from the boy’s possession.
