THE THIRD time’s the charm for the Aegis Vipers as they wrested the championship crown of the 2013 E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym last Saturday.
The Vipers trampled the Lexmark Stallions, 75-64, to sweep the best-of-three championship series, 2-0.
Duplicating their 80-67 victory in Game One, the Vipers raced to an early 20-14 lead and never looked back to seal their first title after falling short their first two finals appearances.
Dean Junber Escalon led the for the Vipers with a game-high 20 points while adding four rebounds and an assist. Ryan Veloso finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots and was later named as the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Aegis head coach Lou Regidor also went home with the Coach of the Year award.
Rodulfo Enterina II was the Vipers in double figures with 15 markers.
