Rosas leads Mexican fighters for PP8
ALA Promotion will bring in three tough Mexican fighters to do battle with Filipino boxers in the Pinoy Pride 8: “Philippines vs. Mexico” on Sept. 10 at the Grand Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Leading the list of Mexicans will be Fancisco “Chiquita” Rosas, who will face the undefeated Milan “ El Metodico” Melindo of the ALA Boxing Gym for the WBO Intercontinental Flyweight Championship.
Popularly known as the “uncrowned champion” for having beaten two former world champions in Muhammad Rachman and Carlos Tamara, the rapid-punching Melindo will lead the Philippine Team in this historic battle.
The diminutive and bull-strong Rosas has the experience in the ring having faced five world champions and won over former WBA World champion Juan Jose Landaeta.
The gritty Mexican is a prominent name in the international boxing circle and formerly held the WBC Fecarbox Championship and the Mundo Hispanic title.
ALA Promotions President Michael Aldeguer said Rosas could be the toughest test for Melindo.

The last of the Mexican side is battle-scarred veteran Gerson “El Nene” Guerrero (34-8, 26 KOs), who takes on the undefeated Genesis “Azukal” Servania (14-0, 5 KOs).
The comebacking Guerrero has undoubtedly the edge over the Cebu-based Ilonggo in experience and power while the latter will be relying on his youth and stamina.
