MAN NABBED FOR ’MASIAO’

A MAN allegedly involved in the illegal numbers games known locally as “masiao” was arrested in a raid in barangay Cabadingan, Compostela town, northern Cebu last Wednesday night. Rodolfo Bugjao was arrested by operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID). Allegedly seized from his possession were illegal gambling paraphernalia, P50,000 cash and a .45 caliber pistol.

The raid was mounted after Mandaue City Regional Trial Court Judge Teresita Galanida issued a search warrant.

MAN BURNS SELF

A MENTALLY unstable man allegedly burned himself to death outside his house in barangay Centro Bunakan, Madridejos town, northern Cebu Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Wendel Baruc Villamor, 23, set himself on fire by pouring his body with gasoline and ignited it with a matchstick.

Police said Villamor’s body was already on fire when neighbors found him.
