MAN FALLS IN DRUG BUST

POLICE arrested a 29-year-old man and seized packs of suspected shabu worth P50,000 in a buy-bust operation Monday night in barangay Tejero.

Erel Pizaras, a resident of barangay Guadalupe, was arrested after he allegedly sold a pack to a policeman acting as a poseur buyer.

When frisked, police seized two small packs and two big packs of suspected from Pizaras’ possession.

In an interview, Pizaras denied that he was involved in selling illegal drugs and that it was the owner of the house he is working for who is involved in illegal drug trade.

6 HURT IN MANDAUE ROAD ACCIDENT

SIX persons were critically injured in a collision between a passenger jeepney and a van-type multicab in Mandaue City.

Police said the Jundil Cabatuan, the 32-year-old driver of the passenger jeepney plying the Mandaue City-Lapu-Lapu City route, was at fault in the accident which happened on A. C. Cortes Street past 6 a.m. yesterday.

Cabatuan told police that he was tailing a truck when he noticed that the jeepney’s brakes malfunctioned.

Cabatuan said in his attempt to avoid hitting the truck, he swerved the jeepney to the left side of the road but ended up colliding with the multicab driven by Demetrio Ordinario.

Police said Cabatuan is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple injuries and damage to properties./Correspondents Fe Marie D. Dumaboc and Justine L. Espina

MINIBUS DRIVER GUNNED DOWN

A 54-YEAR-OLD minibus driver was shot dead while he was cooking food in his home in barangay Tubod, Sibonga town, southern Cebu.

Gil Sordilla Redoble suffered a gunshot wound in the head. Police are still investigating possible motives for the attack.
