MANILA, Philippines – It has cost the Philippine National Police P150,000 and 100 escorts to ensure the safety of the alleged mastermind in the P10 billion pork barrel scam as she travels Thursday to the Senate where she is expected to shed light on the controversy.

“Everything is now in place,” Police Senior Superintendent Theodore Sindac, PNP-Public Information Office chief, said of the security that has been provided to Janet Lim-Napoles.

He was, however, mum on the mode of transportation which will be used for Napoles’ trip from Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where she has been detained, to the Senate in Pasay City.

“Chopper is just among the options. The mode of transportation will only be finalized when she leaves,” Sindac said.

Fort Sto. Domingo is roughly 50 kilometers away from the Senate, depending on the route, Sindac said.

Sindac said roughly 100 police officers from PNP-Special Action Force, Police Regional Office 4A, National Capital Region Police Office, and Highway Patrol Group, would secure Napoles but added that the PNP has received a request for additional men.

A dry-run was conducted Wednesday.

The PNP also said that about P150,000 was spent for this operation.
