The Caloocan police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Lordin Gandalan, a resident of Everlasting Street, Barangay 178, Camarin, Caloocan City.
He was arrested after his alleged victims, Benjie Angeles, Joyland Manipon, and Jeff Gutierrez from Quezon City, chased him together with barangay watchmen along Alma Jose Street, Barangay 177, Camarin, on Tuesday night.
Investigation showed that the victims were eating at a canteen in the area when Gandalan and another man pointed a gun at them and declared a hold-up.
The two took Angeles’ wristwatch, and the personal belongings of the two other victims. The suspects then fled on a motorcycle.
The three victims ran after the suspects until they stumbled and a group of barangay watchmen patrolling the area noticed them and ran after the two.
After a brief chase, the group arrested Gandalan, while his companion escaped.
Seized from the suspect were a .45-caliber pistol, a magazine with live bullets, and the motorcycle he was riding on.
Charges of theft and violation of the election gun ban are being prepared against the suspect.
